mrk Marketing Services was founded in 1999 by IT veteran Michael Krieger to share his unique mix of experience in the world of technology marketing. Michael has held executive roles in IT, technology media, market research and content creation, giving him an unmatched perspective on how technology products are bought, deployed and used.
Michael began his career in the 1970s as a mainframe programmer, developing application software for apparel manufacturers. He was then recruited to run development for micro-to-mainframe connectivity pioneer Techland Systems, which led to his engagement at AST Research. During his long tenure at AST he drove the creation of one of the first multi-processor PC servers, the AST Manhattan SMP, from inception to launch.
He then began the first of his three stints at Ziff Davis where as VP Market Experts he created integrated marketing programs for Ziff’s largest advertisers including IBM, HP, Dell, Cisco, CDW, EMC and Citrix to name just a few. As Ziff’s leading event moderator he led over a thousand webcasts and hundreds of face-to-face events.
Michael also served as CEO of blade server pioneer CommVision, as Sr. VP of Cloud Computing pioneer FutureLink, and as VP Marketing of Hitachi’s PC Server group. Before turning his complete attention to MRK, he most recently served as VP for ConStat, an Oakland, California-based market research firm specializing in IT research
